A busy last week of the holiday.
We have had a great week this week. Last week of our holidays, although we are not starting back to school in a traditional sense.
We drove to Wales to visit a good friend, who was excited and envious of my plans. We had great fun for 3 nights and 2 days. She has a 7 year old, a 2 and 1/2 year old and a 3 month old. The kids all hung out in their Welsh paradise. She lives in the middle of nowhere! They participated in outside play - one activity involved a childs trolley and several soft toys and a hill! There was a great outside play fort that overlooked the countryside and the weather was great for the two days we were there.
There was also a lot of indoor gaming activity, my girls enjoyed this but also found they needed to get outside more than my friends child.
The great thing of having a fantastic friendship, is you can understand each others different parenting techniques but you don't try and change it. We are on a two sides of the parenting spectrum, I am more towards rules, and routine; my friend laughed and said their rules are, there are no rules!
It is good I think for children to see different parenting techniques.
Home to a busy house on Thursday, my brother in law, his partner - H, their nearly 5 month old little girl - Miss C and my BIL daughter who is 16 - Miss 16.
Lots of champagne was drunk to celebrate a great result for GCSE's for Miss 16 (thank you a fellow blogger for this idea).
Friday brought a trip to a cattery to house our cat whilst we are away in October. He is a ragdoll cat and a diva, he needs lots of attention so was pleased to find out that they do attend to each individual cats needs.
Friday afternoon was the 3rd actual meeting of one of my great virtual friends, who is now very much happily romantically involved in mine and Mr C's best man! Our children met for the first time and I think they got on pretty well.
Friday night involved more wine drinking with the BIL and H. Lots of looking at houses online, one of my favourite past times!
Saturday was very ordinary day, involving a Mcdonalds breakfast - not ordinary, a big Tesco shop - very ordinary, then home for a lovely tea. We then watched Matilda. The day then became less than ordinary as after I had spoken to a friend via messenger, we had an invite at 7.45pm to a house party, involving friends I have known for anything between 26 to 20 years, some I have not seen properly for 18 years! There was dancing to dance music, lots of hugging, then having to leave at 11pm when the children had got bored or a little overwhelmed by Mummy dancing to 'Playing with knives' by Bizarre Inc.
Today (Sunday), we went to Hull Motor Show, it was interesting - lots of boy racers, some good looking cars and also some not so good looking cars. We left soon after to feed the horses.
The week has been good one!!
